My boyfriend and I are strongly convinced that these two will be in a romantic relationship. If you think about it, these two would have enough time to form such a relationship, since it would've taken Nick months to train for the police force. So, that would've given them time to bond more by hanging out and going on dates. If they were to become canon, they would be one of the very few Disney couples to have a naturally pacing relationship, not something that happens in seconds or a mere few days like the majority of Disney's couples.

I understand where the platonic comes from, though. I've heard some people say that they're glad there's a male/female team that doesn't end up falling in love in their movie, and I'm happy about that too. However, I feel like Nick and Judy would be a GREAT representation of interracial couples. Well, in Zootopia, it would be kinda interspecies, but since the animals act more human in this world, I see them more as races instead of species. Anyway, since Zootopia dove into things such as racism and police prejudice, I'd like to see them dive into more serious relationship topics, like interracial and homosexual couples, since people today still have issues with such couples, and it needs to be addressed more. I'd love if they put in such topics in a future Zootopia sequel.
